The call of the void.

It tempts me, luring me to keep going.

The darkness says; go on,

You can.

You are half way there; it won’t take much.

You are tired;

I can take over.

We can be darkness together.

Succumb to me.

Let your shame engulf you;

Let it come; let us be darkness together.

You are tired and life is still long;

You do not need to do this;

You could stop now.

Let me carry you into darkness.

We can wallow in your failures until you can’t breathe,

Until your heart rate deafens you,

And your eyes can’t see.

We can be darkness together.

Let go; join me.

There is no point to being so tired;

To carry such shame;

To work so hard.

Join me.

I am right here and I’m waiting;

Just a dark thought away.
